NELSON SHAPIRO has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1977 and was a partner with Louis Sturz & Co., a partner with Grossman, Russo & Shapiro, and a partner with Russo & Shapiro, CPA’s.
Highly effective in each area necessary to lead a private equity firm, Nelson is truly Shefford’s cornerstone.
While supervising day-to-day operations, Mr. Shapiro is responsible for guiding the firm’s overall strategy and interacts, on a daily basis, with Shefford’s investors, operating partners, and third party administrators.
Jonathan Cross

Jonathan Cross is a seasoned investor with over 35 years experience in principal investing, domestic and cross-border M&A, corporate finance and corporate restructuring.
Jonathan provides insight and experience to execute through each stage of a mergers and acquisitions strategy; developing appropriate tactics based on the overarching goals while preparing to capitalize on opportunities during every step of the process.
From initiating contact with potential acquisitions, to implementing, analyzing, negotiating, structuring, financing, and closing each transaction; creating value is Jonathan’s total focus.
TODD LEWIS

Mr. Lewis joined the team in 2008 after spending nearly 20 years in real estate development and related investment consulting.
Todd’s role with Shefford is to identify and properly manage exposures, pitfalls and conflicts from the beginning of a transaction and he commits a majority of his time to this critical function. Todd also advises the investment committee relating to risk management and alternative courses of action.

During his executive career, Joseph has held several leadership positions at various organizations including NDB Capital Markets, Sanford C. Bernstein, and Needham & Company.
Joe brings a broad array of expertise to Shefford, including deep knowledge in capital markets, IPOs, investor relations, and alternative investments. He is a valuable asset and an equitable advisor to early-stage companies looking to go public or small public companies that have “hit-the-wall” and are in need of restructuring.
